THEATER BUZZ!!! BLAIR RIBEIRO CAST AS JUROR #10 IN THE DRAMATIC PLAY, 12 ANGRY WOMEN
Twelve Angry Men is a classic play that explores the principles of justice, racism, biases, and how these social issues directly impact the way we see the world and the way we judge others. At it’s simplest, it is a courtroom/jury room drama, and at its most complex, it is a social commentary about our strengths and weaknesses when judging others…and how those quick to judge may forsake the innocent and themselves.
Made popular in the 1950’s teleplay and movie featuring actors such as Henry Fonda, Ed Begley, and Jack Klugman, Twelve Angry Men has shown its timelessness and relevance in each generation. It’s impact has been so powerful that by the 1980’s, two reinterpretations of the play, Twelve Angry Jurors, which features a mixed male and female cast, and Twelve Angry Women, which features an all female cast, were written, and have now joined the ranks of being performed if not more, than as frequently as the original source material.
Actress Blair Ribeiro vividly remembers reading Twelve Angry Men when she was in eighth grade, and is proud to announce that she was recently cast in the AlphaNYC Theater Company’s upcoming production of Twelve Angry Women, directed by Elizabeth Aquino. Playing Juror #10 in the production which will have two back to back showings at 3 and 5 PM at NYC’s, historic Producer’s Club on Sunday, December 15th, 2019, Blair is excited to bring the character to life!
